In January 2008 Senomyx and Firmenich SA, the world's largest privately-owned fragrance and flavor company, entered into a collaborative research, development, commercialization and license agreement for novel flavor ingredients intended to provide a cooling taste effect. During the three-year collaborative period, Senomyx will use its proprietary screening technologies to discover and develop novel compounds that may be used by Firmenich on an exclusive basis worldwide as ingredients that impart a cool taste in flavor systems. more
In November 2008 Senomyx and Firmenich entered into a new collaborative commercialization and license agreement for S2383, Senomyx’s novel enhancer of the high-intensity sweetener sucralose. During the collaborative period, Firmenich will be granted exclusive rights on a worldwide basis to commercialize S2383 in virtually all product categories. more
In August 2009 Senomyx and Firmenich entered into a collaborative research, development, commercialization and license agreement regarding Senomyx's novel Sweet Enhancers, which are flavor ingredients intended to enhance the taste of sucrose (table sugar), fructose, and Rebaudioside (stevia)., Senomyx’s enhancer of sucrose (table sugar) that has demonstrated the ability to reduce up to 50% of the sugar in a variety of products while maintaining the taste of natural sugar. more
In January 2010 Firmenich made a decision to proceed with commercial development of S6973, Senomyx’s enhancer of sucrose (table sugar) that has demonstrated the ability to reduce up to 50% of the sugar in a variety of products while maintaining the taste of natural sugar. During the collaborative period Firmenich will have exclusive rights to commercialize S6973 worldwide in virtually all food product categories and in select powdered beverages. more
In October 2010 Senomyx and Firmenich expanded our S6973 collaboration to include use in instant and ready-to-drink milk, tea and coffee beverages, as well as over the counter pharmaceutical products. more
In November 2010 Senomyx and Firmenich extended the research period of our cooling flavors collaboration for an additional two years. Senomyx has discovered promising new cooling flavors that demonstrated a taste proof-of-concept and displayed cooling properties that exceed those of commonly used agents. Taste tests are being conducted by both Senomyx and Firmenich. more
In February 2011 Firmenich exercised its option to extend the research funding period of the companies' Sweet Taste Program collaboration through July 2012.
In December 2010 Firmenich exercised its option to expand the companies’ collaboration related to Senomyx’s sweet-taste technology (announced August 2009) to include the discovery, development, and worldwide commercialization of natural flavor ingredients intended to enhance the taste of sucrose, fructose, and Rebaudioside (stevia). more
