Senomyx’s collaboration with Nestlé SA, the world's largest food company, began in April 2002 for the discovery of flavors and flavor enhancers for dehydrated and culinary food, frozen food, and wet soup. In March 2006, the original agreement was expanded to include the pet food category, and amended to allow Senomyx to reacquire rights to certain of its flavor ingredients in certain geographic regions. In June 2007, Nestlé began marketing products that contain one of Senomyx's flavor ingredients.
In October 2004, Senomyx and Nestlé entered into a second agreement for coffee and coffee whitener products. In May 2009, Senomyx announced that Nestlé had selected a new Senomyx flavor ingredient for development activities and evaluation of commercial potential in the coffee and coffee whitener fields. more
In May 2009 Senomyx announced that Nestlé selected a new flavor ingredient, which was discovered under the companies' collaborative research and license agreement, for development activities and evaluation of commercial potential in the coffee and coffee whitener fields. In addition, Nestlé is continuing to assess another ingredient for potential future selection in the same field. more
