Donald S. Karanewsky, Ph.D., Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer, joined Senomyx in June 2007 as Senior Vice President, Discovery, and was appointed Chief Scientific Officer in June 2010. Dr. Karanewsky has directed research teams and had senior management roles at a number of biotechnology institutions including Idun Pharmaceuticals, Ligand Pharmaceuticals and The Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF). In addition, he held principal positions at Glaxo Inc, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and the Squibb Institute for Medical Research. He received his Ph.D. and Masters degrees in Chemistry from Harvard University and was granted a B.S. in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude, from Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. Dr. Karanewsky is an inventor on approximately 90 issued US patents and has authored over 70 scientific publications.
