Product Development Process
Optimization of Lead Samples and Selection of Product Candidates.
The next step in our process is to enhance, or optimize, our lead samples to allow lower amounts to be used in the finished product or improve the enhancement effect to meet the taste attribute goals of our collaborators. Optimization may also be required to improve the physical properties of a new ingredient so that it is stable under manufacturing, storage and food preparation conditions. We refer to optimized samples that provide desirable taste attributes in food and beverage product prototypes as product candidates. Working in conjunction with our collaborators, one or more product candidates are selected for development activities intended to support commercialization.
