SENOMYX, INC. ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF HARRY J. LEONHARDT, ESQ. TO THE POSITION OF VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL COUNSEL
La Jolla , CA ( September 18, 2003 ) – Senomyx, Inc. (www.senomyx.com) announced the appointment of Harry J. Leonhardt, Esq. to the position of Vice President and General Counsel. Mr. Leonhardt brings over 20 years of legal, corporate, intellectual property and business development experience to the Company. Mr. Leonhardt will head Senomyx's Legal Department and serve as a member of the Company's senior management team.
"Harry's background and experience are ideally suited to help us advance Senomyx through our next stage of growth and development and into the commercialization phase," said Kent Snyder , President and CEO of Senomyx. "Harry will play a key role on the company's executive management team and we look forward to his contributions on a number of levels."

Prior to joining Senomyx, Mr. Leonhardt served as Executive Vice President of Business Development, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Genoptix, Inc. and as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Nanogen, Inc. Prior to that time, Mr. Leonhardt held a variety of increasingly responsible positions at Allergan, Inc. including General Counsel for European Operations, Assistant General Counsel, Head of Worldwide Litigation and Chief Litigation Counsel for Intellectual Property. Earlier in his career, Mr. Leonhardt was an attorney at the Los Angeles office of Lyon & Lyon where he represented a number of clients in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He received his B.Sc. degree from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California Law Center.
